What's Your Blood Type?

BloodPythons.com started off as one girl's obsession with awesome red snakes...and promptly ran out of control from there!  The original purpose of this site was to provide a meeting place for blood & short-tailed python keepers to come together & celebrate the experience of keeping & breeding these fantastic serpents.  Over the years, this site has evolved into a collaborative educational effort of two very dedicated blood python keepers...and their friends who often stop by to say hi on the forums!

Kara L. Glasgow...

I'm an animal addict, plain & simple, and have been since early childhood.   While my herp experience as a kid mostly consisted of collecting the local frogs, toads & lizards around my house in Texas, I was bound to a strict "no snakes in the house" rule by my parents. As soon as opportunity arose, I quickly amassed a collection of boas, native colubrids & various lizards.

After several years of being a locality red-tailed boa snob, I "saw the light" with bloods in Fall 2000, at which point they quickly became my primary focus., and have been for the past 9 years.  I do keep a few other snakes, but bloods & short-tails are easily my favorites.

While there are easily another 50 some-odd species I'd love to have at any given time, my work at NERD (New England Reptile Distributors) fortunately allows me to get hands-on with most of them, without becoming overwhelmed by too many critters.

In my "spare time" I enjoy raising chickens, cooking, working out, playing mommy to the world's most spoiled peach-faced lovebird, reading & field herping.

Who says nice girls can't like snakes, too?

Ryan Norris...

I've kept all sorts of critters for many years.  My background is in aquatics, and evolved to reptiles as my interests changed.  I kept various monitor species for many years, and eventually was bitten by the snake bug.  Blood pythons became a primary interest almost 10 years ago, and they have been the pinnacle of my herp collection since that time.  I currently maintain a collection of blood pythons, Sumatran short-tailed Pythons, and Borneo short-tailed pythons, and these are the only snakes I work with at the moment.  Yeah, call me a snob, I know what I like.  I do also keep some fancy alligator snapping turtles, but for the moment my primary interest is held by the short-tailed pythons & their bright red kin.

When there's any time left at the end of the day, you'll find me on my dirt bike tearing up the track.  I've been competing in motocross events for several years, and plan to do so as long as I am able.

While I'm not a "major" web presence, you'll always find me at the BloodPythons.com booth at any shows we attend.  Look forward to seeing you there...RN
